International Program
Description
The Department of Economics has started an internationalization program co-financed by the Italian Research Ministry and the University of Verona. The project proposes international co-tutorship as a mean to guarantee access to knowledge and research methods otherwise not available to single institutions. Each doctoral student in this program will receive scientific support and supervision in preparing the thesis from two tutors of two different institutions as stipulated in a bilateral agreement signed on a student by student basis. This joint supervision guarantees that the requirements of originality and quality of the research are ascertained on the basis of rigorous criteria and internationally shared. This program has led in recent years to exchange agreements
with the universities of Essex, York, Wisconsin, Cergy-Pontoise,
Cyprus, Oviedo and Campinas. Also within this program several leading visiting
professors have been invited to teach our doctoral students. A partial
list of visiting professors in the past academic year
includes: Nava Ashraf (Harvard U), Bert Balk (Erasmus U), Pranab
Bardhan (UC Berkeley), Edmund Cannon (U Bristol), Louis Eeckhoudt
(University of Lille), Neal Gandal (Tel Aviv U), Gur Huberman (Columbia
Business School), Miltiadis Makris (U Leicester), Dilip Mookherjee
(Boston U), Imran Rasul (UCL), Eric Verhoogen (Columbia U), John
Weymark (Vanderbilt U), Dean Yang (U Michigan), Daniel John Zizzo (U
East Anglia). .
