The linux server linux1.dse.univr.it. contains the software Matlab and other software.

To access you need to

* ask credentials to Rosario Lombardo (or Luciano Vallone or Nicola Tommasi).

* connect via remote desktop through the software X2goclient configured in the following way  ConfigureX2go_linux1dse

In case you access from home (outside the UniVR network)

* download and install (to your pc or mac) either Global Protect (recommended) or Junos Pulse.

How to access the server remotely

To use the remote laboratory users must be declared as users in GIA (system that manages accesses to most University platforms); Ask us to do that.

In the Department actually there are 2 Servers:
a) win.dse.univr.it    
SCISERVER : features of the server: Dell Power Edge R620 X10 Intel Xeon E5-2695 , 2,40 GHz, 48 GB Ram, OS Windows Server 2012 R2 STANDARD
b) winr.dse.univr.it
DSESERVER: features of the server: Dell Power Edge T610 2 xIntel Xeon x5550, 2.66 GHz,  32 GB Ram, OS Windows Server 2008, 64 bit
 
CONNECTING to servers VIA WEB
1) The first time download and install to your pc or mac either Global Protect (recommended) or Junos Pulse. See details at the FAQ Telelavoro (homeworking) in the sections "VPN with Global Protect" or "VPN with Pulse Secure".
2) When the connection is established:
For Windows users
To connect to the Windows server use "Remote Desktop Connection·   
  -  Enter the DNS address win.dse.univr.it or winr.dse.univr.it and User:(your GIA userid)@ateneo.univr.it  
 - To share folders between your pc/mac and servers select: Local resources>Other>Units
For Macintosh users
To connect to the Windows server use "Microsoft Remote Desktop” (Download free with idApple from Apple store)
- Enter the DNS address win.dse.univr.it or winr.dse.univr.it and User:(your GIA userid)@ateneo.univr.it
- For Microsoft Remote Desktop use Redirection to share folders between your pc/mac and servers
3) at the end of your work session
·      at the end remember to disconnect Junos Pulse or Global Protect connection
