Ph.D. Program in Economics and Finance - University of Verona
Introduction and Overview
The Doctoral Program in Economics and Finance at the University of Verona is designed to train doctoral candidates in a broad program of advanced study for careers in teaching and research in universities, in public and private research organizations, in financial and consulting institutions and private companies.
The Ph. D. Program is structured with courses and exams completely in English. It regularly enrolls Italian and international students interested in improving their knowledge of modern tools in both theoretical and empirical economic and finance analysis.
All PhD Program activities are offered jointly with the Universities of Venice and Padova. Over twentyfive 3-year scholarships will be available for prospective students every year.
Deadline: 25 May 2012
The Course Structure
The doctoral program lasts three years, with courses and exams in the first academic year and with thesis work during the final two years, part of which should be spent abroad. In particular, our students may benefit from several agreements between the universities of Padova, Venice and Verona and prestigious universities abroad.
During their first year students must attend courses and pass exams spread over three terms (October-July). Courses in the first term take place in Verona, in the second term they are instead taught in Padova. Third term courses are all elective, and are taught in Padova, Venice and Verona. In the fourth term (September-November of the second year), students take extra courses in the area of their choice, and select their supervisor.
